Casey Ranch - Montana, Musselshell County, Roundup

At approximately 5069 deeded acres, Casey Ranch is located in the Bull Mountain Range of east-central Montana. The ranch is approximately 15 miles east of Roundup, the Musselshell County seat. The country is characterized by low rolling ponderosa hills, sandstone rock outcroppings and grassy meadows. Grasses include Needle and Thread, Western Wheatgrass, Blue Bunch Wheatgrass and Idaho Fescue. Snowberry brush is common throughout the ranch. Elevations range from 3500 to 4500 feet. Annual precipitation is around 15 inches.

The ranch is mostly perimeter fenced and pasture cross fenced. Irrigation, stock, and wildlife wells are strategically located throughout the property. Good roads access most areas of the ranch. While there are no dwellings on the property, there is power infrastructure to and through the ranch.


Roundup, Montana (population 2,500) is located 15 miles west of the property and offers general services including grocery, gas, restaurants and lodging. Billings, the state capital, is a 1.5 hour drive south. Billings is the largest town in Montana and offers most services including hospitals, restaurants, lodging, shopping, and commercial air service with daily nonstop flights to Chicago, Atlanta, Minneapolis, LA, Phoenix, Seattle, Denver, and Salt Lake City.


Roundup enjoys 15 inches of precipitation annually, summer highs in the 80s, winter lows in the teens and 20s, and 250+ days of sunshine per year.
