The property is comprised of approximately 400 deeded acres and borders the South Platte River. The topography is generally level with a combination of cottonwood lined riparian areas, open river bottom, warm water sloughs, beaver ponds, prairie cordgrass stands, open woodland areas and irrigated cornfields. The lodge sits near the center of the property along the edge of the woodlands and the cornfields, while the South Platte River runs along the northern property line. In between rests, the warm water sloughs and the open woodland areas offer prime habitat for whitetail deer, turkey, dove, and quail. The Platte River Hunt Club is located in the Central Flyway just off I-76 approximately 2.5 hours northeast of Denver, 3.5 miles southwest of Sedgwick, Colorado, and approximately 40 miles east of Sterling.Locale

Located in the extreme northeast corner of the state with an elevation around 3,500, the climate is similar to that of the mid-western plains of Nebraska and Kansas. Average summertime highs can reach the upper 90s, and in the winter average lows hover in the teens and rarely drop below zero.
