Strawberry Park Retreat - Colorado, Routt County, Steamboat Springs

While probably best known for the powdery ski slopes at Mt. Werner, which has a long tradition of producing Winter Olympic athletes, and the area’s numerous springs, Steamboat is also known for its friendly small-town feel and still-intact ranching culture. The northern-most of Colorado’s ski towns, Steamboat Springs is about a three hour drive northwest of Denver and one hour north of the Vail and Summit County areas. It is also home to a busy regional commercial airport that brings in non-stop flights from many major cities during the ski season, plenty of top-notch restaurants, and shopping from high-end boutiques to big box retail.

Improvements include a well and a small uninhabitable cabin with septic system and solar, both of which will need to be upgraded upon building a new residence.


This property is located about six miles north of town on the east side of the paved, county-maintained road (CR 36) that accesses Strawberry Park, and about 1 mile after the road turns gravel. This property is a beautiful, mostly raw piece of ground surrounded on two sides by national forest.


The weather here is like most of Colorado’s ski towns, with cold, snowy winters – Steamboat is known to have some of Colorado’s most reliable snowfall from year-to-year – and summer days with abundant sunshine and cool evenings.
