A 400-acre wildlife refuge, the Platte River Hunt Club includes approximately a 1/2 mile of the South Platte River, numerous warm water sloughs and ponds, open woodlands and priority water rights to irrigate the 140+ acres of corn providing a diversity of habitat rarely found. Healthy populations of game, including waterfowl, whitetail deer, turkey, quail and dove, make this a desirable property for any sportsman. In the past, the property has produced impressive whitetail with a 190+ buck just harvested in 2009. With an extensive network of sunken pit blinds in the corn fields and numerous other blinds along the river and sloughs, this property offers some of the best duck and goose hunting in the area. Ducks Unlimited has referred to this property as a "premier example of high quality wetland habitat found along the South Platte River." The club is home to a fully furnished 1,400 square foot hunting lodge with 2 bedrooms/ bathrooms, large kitchen, great room, and large deck set on the edge of the woodlands, as well as a large Quonset building for equipment storage. The Platte River Hunt Club is located east of Sterling, Colorado near the town of Sedgwick, approximately 2.5 hours from Denver. The cabin along with the 220+/- acre hunting ground on the river can be split from the irrigated corn field and purchased separately. Please contact Mirr Ranch Group for details. Maps
