Hunting
- The ranch is located in game management unit 85 which holds the Trinchera elk herd, one of the largest elk herds in Colorado and renowned for its trophy quality.
- In past years, over-the-counter elk tags available to the public for this ranch.
- Other game species includes mule deer, bighorn sheep, mountain lion, turkey and some of the best black bear hunting in the state.
- The surrounding San Isabel National Forest and other public lands, opens the door to thousands of additional acres for hunting.
Fishing
- Fly fishermen will appreciate Rainbow and Brook trout in the nearly 1.5 miles of Echo Creek and Little Echo Creek that flow through the ranch.
- In addition to the creeks, there are six stocked trout ponds.
Recreation
- The nearby San Isabel National Forest offers tens of thousands of acres to hike, ride, fish, hunt, cross-country ski or enjoy however you please.
- Adjoining town along the Cucharas River is the 18-hole Grandote Peaks Golf Club, a Tom Weiskopf/Jay Morrish designed championship golf course that was named a “four star award winner” by Golf Digest.
- The ranch is just south of the new Cuchara Mountain Resort which is scheduled to open in the Summer of 2011. When completed, Cuchara Mountain Resort will feature a zipline, a mountain coaster, a year round tubing hill, downhill skiing, a snowboard park, a nordic center and many other fun activities for kids and adults. A community center is planned, along with a new restaurant and a hotel for extended stays, too.
