Fishlake Ranch is a world-class recreation property. Trophy elk hunting is as good here as any place in the world. Mule deer hunting, along with small stream and pond fishing is fantastic as well. In addition, the gentle slopes and expansive views present an ideal environment for the horse and ATV/OHV enthusiast.

Hunting
  • Fishlake Ranch is a preeminent trophy elk ranch. Doyle Moss, president of Mossback Outfitters, is very familiar with the property and says “…the ranch is an absolute elk factory. The rut on this property is total chaos…it's impossible to describe the bugling and big bulls tearing it up here in September…” There are 12 bull tags, and over 18 mule deer buck tags allocated through Utah’s Cooperative Wildlife Management Unit Program. Under this program, you can set your own seasons and thus hunt elk during September (rut) with rifles. Over the past five years the average score on bulls harvested here has been over 345” B&C. There have been five bulls killed grossing over 385” B&C. Two years ago, a 214” gross mule deer was killed here.
  • Utah State University biologists conducted a study in 2005 which revealed that this ranch, at any given time, holds at least 20% and up to 40% of the Fishlake Herd. The Fishlake Herd population is estimated at 4,000-5,000 animals, so there are between 800 and 2,000 elk inhabiting this ranch. During September, it is not uncommon to see over 100 bulls per day. These same experts believe this property is one of the highest density calving grounds on Earth.

Fishing
  • There are two small stream fisheries that traverse several miles of the property. Up to 15” Browns and Rainbows inhabit the streams. Native Cutthroats and Brook Trout live there too. Existing adjudicated water rights would enable the owner to improve stream habitat and also build multiple ponds.
  • Fishlake is thirty miles south of the property. This lake is the largest natural mountain lake in Utah, and is known as one of the best Mackinaw fisheries in the U.S. Up to 50 pound Mackinaws have been caught here. Fishlake is also known for fabulous Rainbow Trout and Splake (hybrid cross between a Lake Trout and a Brook Trout) fishing.

Horses
  • With its gentle slopes, expansive views, abundance of water and adjacency to the 1.4 million acre Fishlake National Forest and its many trails, Fishlake Ranch is an ideal property for the horse enthusiast.

Recreation
  • ATV fans will appreciate the property’s close proximity to the famous 230-mile Paiute ATV trail.
