Three Creeks Ranch - Wyoming, Johnson County, Buffalo

Three Creeks Ranch provides excellent upland bird, big-game, waterfowl and fishing opportunities throughout the property. The mild winters and low annual snowfall allow for carry-over of upland birds during most years, which includes pheasant, Hungarian partridge, sharp-tailed grouse, Merriam’s Turkey and sage grouse. The current owners have fostered the upland bird and waterfowl hunting through habitat enhancement, bird-friendly agricultural practices, wetland creation and restoration and implementation of a private bird farm sanctuary.

Fishing opportunities are diverse, ranging from warm-water lakes to cold-water streams. The North and Middle Forks of Crazy Woman Creek have good trout fisheries, namely brown and rainbow trout. The current owners have augmented the stream fisheries by modifying the current irrigation diversions to allow for increased in-stream flows through the majority of the fishable waters of Middle Fork of Crazy Woman Creek. Purdy Reservoir is approximately 100-acres, providing a warm-water fishery for large-mouth bass up to 5 pounds.

Big-game hunting for mule-deer, white-tailed deer and pronghorn is excellent, with current owners actively managing for trophy quality animals. Mule deer scoring up to 190” B&C have been taken in the past, as well as 155” B&C white-tails. Most mature pronghorn will generally sport 14-15” length horns, and score in the 72-78” B&C range. Occasionally in the fall, bull elk will show up on the property as well.
