Mac McWhorter was introduced to the various aspects of real estate as well as agricultural and recreational land in the southeast at an early age. Growing up, Mac spent most of his time working on various family owned agricultural and recreational properties which exposed him to several areas of conservation and recreational development, including preservation of historical Native American sites, stream and fisheries improvements along the headwaters of the Sequatchie River, various aquatic issues related to stream and spring fed ponds and lakes, and the development of food plots and wildlife habitats for various game species. With family ties to Bozeman, Montana, Mac is also familiar with the open western terrain as well as the Rocky Mountain culture. This, combined with his experiences as an Eagle Scout and outdoorsmen, has given him a well rounded appreciation for open space and especially the western landscape.
Throughout his education at the University of Tennessee, Mac worked as a Cost Estimator for Tennessee Insurance Services, Inc. where he assessed commercial and residential construction types and building methods to determine reconstruction estimates for insurance purposes. He was also an Affiliate Broker for McWhorter Realty & Management Co., Inc. and then Millstone Development Co., Inc. where he assisted in the sales, management and development of commercial, residential and agricultural properties.
