Why blog about ranches? Well, ranches are what we do at Mirr Ranch Group and we enjoy what we do.And we feel that a blog is an effective way of talking with folks, getting information out to clients, colleagues, friends, consultants, and those that enjoy the ranch life and everything it encompasses. It gives us all a voice in – and let’s us interact with – a community that isn’t much heard from in the digital world.
Blogging about ranches will entail lots of the same things that get folks talking by their fenceposts. One day it could be a link to an article about a recent Interior Department decision that effects public lands ranchers, the next, how values have increased in a western Colorado county, or a report from a conference covering the latest in stream or rangeland restoration techniques. Maybe someone read an insightful book they’d like to share with others or wants an update on what’s happening on Capitol Hill with conservation easement legislation. Nearly everyday it seems we come across information that affects the buying and selling of rural, large acreage, ranch property. As we all know, with the West ever-changing, market conditions can go up or down quickly, and bargains appear and disappear quickly. And other times there’s just a funny story to tell.
Our team can offer some unique and interesting perspectives, with its principal, Ken Mirr, being a seasoned ranch broker veteran and former public lands attorney; Tommy Latousek might be the only former land trust manager-turned ranch broker in the West and did river conservation work in the Southwest for years; Jeff Hubbard was a top outfitter and hunting guide before joining Mirr Ranch Group; Duffy Brown, up in Sheridan, WY, is a top wildlife biologist and trophy elk hunter. We’re a diverse and knowledgeable bunch. And our list of qualified professionals goes on… Hopefully, by taking the time to look at the things that effect ranches, Mirr Ranch Group will understand the issues better, become more knowledgeable, and offer greater value to our clients. Simply put, we hope to get even smarter by blogging, while providing a nice resource to our readers. Plus, we expect it’ll be a lot of fun.
If you gain benefit from our blog, please leave a comment and let us know. Heck, if you take issue, would like to suggest a counterpoint, or have something to add – let us know. Leave a comment or drop us an email.
We look forward to adding value to your next ranch transaction.
About Mirr Ranch Group (MRG).
