A Little About Me
Ben has spent his entire career doing real estate deals with conservation elements. In particular, Ben is a recognized expert in environmental markets–including conservation easements, wetland mitigation banks, stream and endangered species banks, land-based carbon projects, and water-related investments–which promote conservation and increase revenue on working lands. Ben has advised on or deployed over $200 million in conservation transactions, including some of the most innovative for-profit conservation projects in Colorado and throughout the West. Ben founded the first commercial species bank in Colorado and was the co-developer of the co-op environmental bank model that allows landowners in Wyoming and California to benefit from environmental markets while operating their working lands. Ben is also the founder and CEO of Conservation Investment Management, the first Registered Investment Advisor specialized in conservation finance.
