It has been a fabulous hunting season at Cielo Vista Ranch. We wanted to share a few pictures, including a couple of two beautiful bulls taken on the ranch this year.
Cielo Vista is distinctive in many ways. With regard to September archery elk hunting, the sheer size and diversity of terrain offers hunters an opportunity to pursue elk in four different ecosystems ranging in elevation from around 8,000 feet up to 14,000 feet above sea level. Early in September, bachelor bulls were found loafing far above timberline in the alpine meadows up around 12,500 feet in elevation. As the season progressed, bulls moved down into the “lower” elevations to pursue cows among the aspen glades, small mountain meadows and timbered hillsides. By the later October/November rifle seasons, hundreds of elk could be seen in the lower irrigated meadows and sage flats of Cielo Vista. Cielo Vista is home to elk and other game, including bighorn sheep, mule deer, turkeys and grouse regardless of the season. The terrain is so diverse and accommodating for a variety of conditions; the animals never have to leave.
We also share a few shots when the aspens were at peak color. Cielo Vista is special in every season, but when the bulls are bugling and the aspens are turning, the stirring “view of heaven” is unmistakable.
Beautiful photos and descriptive writing cannot begin to sufficiently convey the magic of this property. In order to fully understand and appreciate Cielo Vista in all its grandeur, it must be experienced. Learn more about Cielo Vista Ranch today.
