Hunters and outfitters at odds in Montana

In the Billings Gazette this morning, “disagreements between hunters and outfitters have risen to a crescendo… as the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks has proposed to limit the number of archery elk permits in districts with limited rifle hunting and to replace unlimited archery antelope licenses with drawings in its 2008 tentative hunting regulations.” Outfitters and ranchers are seeing this “as an attempt to force private landowners to open their lands to public hunting.” Click here to read the article.
