Mirr Ranch Group ranch brokers were busy at various conservation events over the past weekend. This included attending the Colorado Cattlemen’s Agricultural Land Trust Sunset BBQ and the Wyoming Stock Growers Land Trust Roundup BBQ.
Colorado Cattlemen’s Agricultural Land Trust – 2014 Sunset BBQ
Once again, the Colorado Cattlemen’s Agricultural Land Trust’s (CCALT) annual summer BBQ was a huge success. This year’s event was held on the Hutchinson Ranch near Salida, Colorado, a beautiful ranch that has been owned and carefully stewarded by the Hutchinson family for seven generations. The ranch, one of the last working cattle ranches in the Upper Arkansas Valley, was recently preserved by a CCALT conservation easement which will ensure that the property remains a working rural landscape for generations to come.
According to ranch broker Ed Roberson, “My wife Kim and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting with many familiar faces from Colorado’s ranching and conservation communities, and as well as meeting new friends who share our interest in preserving Colorado’s productive ranches and open spaces. Thanks to CCALT and the Hutchinson family for a fun evening of great food and interesting conversation, all in support of a very important cause.”
Wyoming Stock Growers Land Trust – 2014 Roundup BBQ
Supporters of the Wyoming Stock Growers Land Trust (WSGLT) gathered to celebrate another year of conserving working ranches at the Annual Roundup BBQ on August 23, 2014 at Bear Lodge Cattle Co. in Devils Tower, Wyoming. Ranch brokers Mac McWhorter, Jared Souza, and Jim Whalen attended this event with their spouses.
Mac reports, “As usual, the annual WSGLT Roundup BBQ was a great time with some of WY’s leading proponents of agriculture and conservation. The turnout in Devils Tower, WY this past weekend speaks to the dedication and enthusiasm of this great group. A big thanks to Bear Lodge Cattle Co. for hosting the event, and to WSGLT making this happen every year.”
