Hunting
Picture Gallery Ranch is located in the La Sal- Dolores Triangle hunting unit where Limited Entry & General Season hunts are options for mule deer & elk (rifle, archery & muzzleloader). The La Sal Dolores Triangle is a designated wintering range for elk and mule deer that provides fantastic wildlife viewing opportunities on the ranch and surrounding Public Lands. Prospective Buyers should check with the local field office of the Division of Wildlife Resources to confirm the availability for mule deer hunts on the ranch based on seasonal herd populations. The current owners have harvested elk on the ranch and depredation tags for elk have also been made available. In addition, healthy turkey populations frequent the ranch. The ranch has great direct access to the adjacent Colorado Unit 40 trophy elk hunting unit which provides for additional hunting opportunities and revenue potential.
Recreation
The ranch adjoins the Westwater Canyon Wilderness Study Area which spans the Westwater Canyon portion of the Colorado River. Major tributary canyons on the east side of the river include Little Dolores, Marble, and Star canyons. The ranch is a one-hour horseback ride through Marble Canyon to the river. A short box canyon, Little Hole, and a small secluded valley (Big Hole) are the main features northwest of the river. Pinyon-juniper woodlands, sagebrush, and black brush cover this region of Utah. Opportunities for whitewater boating and related camping and hiking in the area are outstanding.
