Sold Ranches: The Hay-Producing Thunder Ranch in Utah

Mirr Ranch Group is pleased to add to our portfolio of sold ranches with the sale of the Thunder Ranch, a thriving hay-producing and incredible trophy hunting property adjoining Dinosaur National Monument and 5 miles of the Green River near Vernal, Utah.

Sold Ranches | Thunder RanchAccording to ranch broker Ken Mirr, “The sale reflects the strong global demand for premium quality agricultural forage, and the combination of hay production, income, access and water, made this a highly desirable investment.”

The sale was for the headquarters unit consisting of 3,150 +/- deeded acres and 5,800 +/- acres of BLM land. This includes 2,000 acres of lush irrigated hay fields, 17 pivots, and around 8,000 tons of premium alfalfa hay.

Sold Ranches | Thunder Ranch“Last year, net operating income from the ranch exceeded 8% of the asking price. Indeed this yield is impressive for ag-oriented properties; however, when viewed in the context of its high recreational value, Thunder Ranch presents a truly unique and compelling acquisition opportunity,” further explains ranch broker Jeff Hubbard.

Thunder Ranch was exclusively listed with Mirr Ranch Group. Congrats to listing ranch brokers Ken Mirr and Jeff Hubbard on the transaction of one of our latest sold ranches!
