Conservation professionals gathered at the University of Denver’s Driscoll Ballroom this past week to celebrate Conservation Excellence 2011, a conference provided by the Colorado Coalition of Land Trusts (CCLT). Colorado is often looked to nationally in creating conservation policy, and the event is well attended annually as a result.
Continuing education was provided at the conference on conservation easements and values as it relates to personal and public property. Mirr Ranch Group was in attendance to continue our education on conservation properties.
Ranch broker Ken Mirr (pictured above with CCLT Executive Director John Swartout and Colorado Open Lands President Dan Pike at the conference) is President of the Board for CCLT. Combined with his experience as a former public lands attorney, Ken is uniquely qualified to help our ranch owners and buyers with conservation property transactions.
At the same time this week, the White House unveiled America’s Great Outdoors, an initiative modeled after the state’s Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO). This is another example of how the federal government models conservation and outdoors programs after policy in Colorado.
