Ranch broker, Jared Souza, shares his recent experience and photos of waterfowl hunting on the Overlook Point Ranch in Goshen County, Wyoming:
As the waterfowl season closes across most of Wyoming, we began to reflect on the season’s past experiences. For many across the state, the season was slow to start with the unseasonable warm temps through much of November, but once the weather finally changed the birds came down by the thousands.
I have had the privilege of chasing waterfowl all my life. I’ve guided waterfowl hunters for almost 13 years, while hunting nearly every square inch of my great state from east to west, and also traveling all over the country chasing feathered dreams. It may come as no surprise the best water fowling in Wyoming is in Goshen County, Home of the Two Shot Goose Hunt, the Platte River, and thousands of migrating waterfowl every year, and right in the heart of all the action is the Overlook Point Ranch. Year in and year out I have not only driven by this place, but also have had to the opportunity to hunt it a few times, and I can say with confidence that this is a top-notch waterfowl property in Wyoming.
This property is truly spectacular in nearly every way, and the recreational opportunities on this 288 acres rival 10,000 acres ranches all over the state. This is truly a four-season property, but the only season that I care about is waterfowl season.
Overlook Point Ranch is in Ft. Laramie, Wyoming. The property is a turnkey getaway that offers the solitude and beauty that the area has to offer, as well as valuable water rights, river frontage, and fertile ground. Listed by Jared Souza, who is also a well-known outfitter, guide, and former ranch manager, he truly understands Wyoming land.
