Outcomes That Matter

St. Benedict’s Monastery

  • Mirr Ranch Group proudly represented the sellers in the sale of St. Benedict’s Monastery, a 3,739± acre legacy holding in the Aspen/Snowmass Valley that had been stewarded by Trappist monks for nearly seven decades. Faced with significant zoning constraints, regulatory uncertainty, and limited appeal to traditional resort buyers or developers, we repositioned the opportunity through disciplined messaging—targeting ultra-high-net-worth, conservation-minded individuals aligned with the property’s intrinsic land values rather than its development potential. By leveraging our national and international reach, we identified a highly qualified buyer who embraced the regulatory framework and acquired the ranch from a stewardship perspective, ultimately closing without pre-approvals and ensuring the property’s legacy of privacy, habitat, and open space was preserved.
Ken Mirr

Note from the broker

  • “It was a privilege to represent this incredible landscape and to further the mission of the Order and the work of the nuns and monks. It is essential to recognize the influence the monks have had on the community, both spiritually and through their exemplary stewardship of the land. This stewardship has led to hundreds of acres of surrounding ranches being protected by conservation easements in perpetuity.”

Dawson Elk Valley Ranch

  • Mirr Ranch Group represented the seller in the conservation-driven sale of Dawson Elk Valley Ranch, a 50,039± acre legacy property in northern New Mexico defined by over 11 miles of the Vermejo River, exceptional wildlife habitat, and significant agricultural and recreational resources. Marketing a ranch of this scale and complexity required a highly strategic approach to convey its full range of values while engaging a diverse pool of qualified buyers, including conservation groups, developers, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. Through targeted positioning and a competitive process that brought multiple aligned parties to the table, we ultimately guided the seller toward a transaction with The Nature Conservancy—delivering strong financial results while ensuring the long-term preservation of the ranch’s ecological integrity and legacy.

Note from the broker

  • “Time spent on the ranch, walking its river bottom, open meadows, and timbered hillsides, revealed the full weight of its history and importance. From the remnants of an old coal town to the living landscape it supports today, the property stands as a rare convergence of past and present. I am incredibly appreciative of the opportunity to work alongside the seller and The Nature Conservancy to ensure this exceptional property will remain intact and protected for generations to come.”

Trees Ranch

  • Trees Ranch borders Zion National Park in southern Utah and is a rare find with over 2,000 deeded acres featuring rivers, lakes, and uniquely designed improvements next to one of our country’s top National Parks.
Ken Mirr

Note from the broker

  • “It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit and work on Trees Ranch, hike in the nearby National Park, and enjoy the solitude and beauty of it all. Working with Paul Allen and his staff, as well as the conservation owners, was icing on the cake.”

Wasatch Peaks Ranch

  • Wasatch Peaks Ranch was an operating ranch located just 40 minutes from Salt Lake City and even closer to Ogden.  MRG recognized early on that the property’s location, size, and topography were unique. Given our background representing ski areas on public land issues, this ranch included privately owned ski terrain that rose to the top of the Wasatch Mountains, in close proximity to Snowbasin Resort.
Ken Mirr

Note from the broker

  • “Wasatch Peaks Ranch represents one of our greatest marketing achievements. From the outset, we positioned the property as a private retreat similar to The Yellowstone Club. We named the property and then positioned it in all of our marketing efforts as a private year-round club or destination resort, and today it has indeed become a successful alternative to the Yellowstone Club.”

Cielo Vista Ranch

  • Mirr Ranch Group represented the seller in the conservation-oriented sale of Cielo Vista Ranch, an extraordinary 83,368± acre holding in southern Colorado encompassing Culebra Peak—the highest privately owned peak in the United States—and over 100 miles of creeks supporting diverse trout fisheries. Marketing a property of this scale and significance presented notable challenges, including a large conservation easement, historic access and usage rights held by neighboring residents, and a limited buyer pool capable of navigating such complexities. Through disciplined positioning, we reframed these perceived constraints as understood and appropriately priced factors, targeting qualified, conservation-minded and recreational buyers. Leveraging our deep network, we ultimately identified a high-net-worth purchaser aligned with the ranch’s unique character, successfully completing a transaction that preserved the integrity of one of North America’s most iconic private landscapes.

JE Canyon Ranch

  • JE Canyon Ranch is a well-known ranch in southeastern Colorado that surprisingly has scenic features similar to those in Utah, such as stunning red-rock canyons carved over thousands of years by the Purgatoire River, dinosaur tracks, and resources for ancient tribes and homesteaders. The ranch also supports a diverse ecosystem favored by The Nature Conservancy, which eventually purchased it as part of a series of transactions that have protected hundreds of thousands of acres of short grass prairie.
Ken Mirr

Note from the broker

  • “We marketed JE Canyon Ranch as a coveted high-value conservation property and sold it to The Nature Conservancy. The sale was a keystone effort in a series of conservation transactions to protect 2 million acres of native grasslands in the Southern High Plains.”
  • – Ken Mirr, Founder, Managing Broker
