Mirr Ranch Group is proud to announce the sale of Cielo Vista Ranch. With over 80,000 deeded acres encompassing life zones ranging from foothills to alpine—including Culebra Peak (one of Colorado’s fourteeners) and eighteen 13,000 peaks–Cielo Vista is one of the most iconic ranches in the West. It is a truly a national treasure, teeming with a range of wildlife including thousands of elk, a resident herd of Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep, and over 100 miles of creeks harboring several species of fish. According to Editor of The Land Report, Eric O’Keefe, this marks the largest US ranch sale in 2017, and news of the sale has spread wide and far the past few days from regional publications such as The Denver Post to global news organizations like Mansion Global.
The buyer and terms are not disclosed, though listing brokers Jeff Hubbard and Pat Lancaster, both of whom are intimately familiar with the property and have guided elk and sheep hunts on Cielo Vista for over 20 years, note the stewardship of Cielo’s vast natural resources, rich history and exquisite landscape is in excellent hands.
According to Hubbard, “The profile of the buyer is absolutely ideal: one who is a true conservationist and is deeply committed to preserving this national treasure and extraordinary resource. I could not be more pleased with the buyer: one who truly appreciates and embraces the responsibility of ensuring this property remains a reflection of our state’s beautiful landscapes, diverse wildlife and rich heritage for decades to come.”
Mirr Ranch Group is well known for finding conservation and ecological buyers as evidenced by past sales such as JE Canyon Ranch, a 50,000-acre working cattle ranch in Las Animas County, Colorado, the Trees Ranch adjoining Zion National Park in southern Utah, and the Mantle Ranch, an inholding in Dinosaur National Monument. Currently, the real estate firm is seeking such a buyer for the Cross Mountain Ranch in northwest Colorado, which spans 4 counties, over 224,000 acres, and offers more than 20 miles of outstanding river frontage. Cielo Vista is the latest to add to this list.
“We are pleased to have played a roll, and congrats to Jeff and Pat for their extraordinary effort to close the sale,” added Mirr Ranch Group owner/broker, Ken Mirr.
