Mirr Ranch Group is proud to be a bronze sponsor at the Colorado Coalition of Land Trust’s (CCLT) 2014 Conservation Excellence Conference at the University of Denver this week. Owner/Broker for Mirr Ranch Group, Ken Mirr, has been supporting the organization and this educational conference since the company’s inception, and served as CCLT’s Board President for five years. According to CCLT, the annual conference is the place for Colorado land conservation professionals to share knowledge and network.
Mirr Ranch Group’s own, ranch broker Ed Roberson, is a speaker at the event. On Monday, he spoke at a seminar entitled, “How much does perpetuity really cost?” along with representatives form Morgan Stanley and Colorado Cattlemen’s Agricultural Land Trust. The group discussed what land trusts need to do to ensure that their stewardship fund will actually be able to fund their conservation efforts in perpetuity.
According to Roberson, “I offered insights from the landowner’s perspective – how it is important for landowners to know that the conservation group they are working with is financially stable and will be able to meet their obligations to their donors 25+ years from now. My background in finance and ranch real estate gives me a unique perspective on this particular subject, so they asked me to speak.”
