The Land Bulletin Podcast: Best Episodes of 2025

Did you know Mirr Ranch Group has a podcast? Hosted by our very own Haley Mirr, The Land Bulletin Podcast explores conservation, land stewardship, and what makes the American West so special. Every other week, we sit down with ranchers, brokers, and conservation-minded leaders who are working to preserve the beauty, heritage, and working landscapes of the West, and we share those conversations with our audience.

This year, the show celebrated Mirr Ranch Group’s 25th anniversary with a series of interviews and special features reflecting on the changes our team has witnessed across a quarter century on the land. Along the way, we also had the pleasure of talking with photographers, historians, and even earthworm experts, gaining fresh and unexpected perspectives on how we can both conserve and celebrate the past, present, and future of our country. Mid-year, we launched our new mini-series, The Back Forty, which quickly gained traction, bringing new listeners, deeper engagement, and a growing list of can’t-miss places to eat across the West.

To close out another great year, we’re excited to share some of our favorite conversations and standout episodes. We’ve curated a top five list of must-listen (and must-watch!) episodes for your enjoyment.

The Back Forty – Exploring Walden, Colorado

In our inaugural Back Forty episode, Haley introduces us to the small town of Walden, Colorado, a tight-knit ranching community surrounded by exceptional fly fishing ranches, abundant wildlife, and wide-open spaces. She explores what makes Walden one of Colorado’s last true agricultural towns, and why it could be the perfect spot for your next ranch investment or a peaceful summer escape.

Reel Hope with Casting for Recovery

Nature is not only beautiful—it can be deeply therapeutic. We had the pleasure of sitting down with Susan Gaetz, Executive Director of Casting for Recovery, to learn how a small nonprofit can make a powerful difference. Casting for Recovery supports women recovering from breast cancer by offering a restorative outlet for movement, reflection, and community along some of our nation’s most beautiful rivers.

Your Week at the Ranch: Exploring C Lazy U

When history meets luxury, you know you’re in for a treat. We had the opportunity to sit down with Jeremy Belnap, General Manager of C Lazy U Ranch, to explore what makes this century-old property a living legacy of the American West. Haley and Jeremy discuss how C Lazy U balances modern hospitality with conservation and thoughtful land stewardship—and why giving city-slickers an authentic ranch experience can turn a single visit into a cherished family tradition.

The Back Forty – Exploring Westcliffe, Colorado

Woody Beardsley joins Haley to explore another hidden gem of the West: Westcliffe, Colorado. Nestled in the Wet Mountain Valley, Woody walks us through the rich history and natural beauty of this small mountain town. From stargazing in one of the nation’s premier dark-sky communities to uncovering the stories of western settlement, this episode highlights how the people of Westcliffe honor their past while thoughtfully shaping their future.

Growing Conservation in Colorado with Denver Botanic Gardens

You don’t have to leave the city to experience a state’s natural beauty. In our conversation with Becky Hufft, Associate Director of Climate Resilience at Denver Botanic Gardens, we explore the many ways urban ecology can create far-reaching impacts across an entire state. Becky shares how research and innovation at the Gardens inform projects focused on rare plant conservation, ecosystem restoration, and even wildfire recovery, proving that meaningful stewardship can start right in the heart of a city.

These, and many other episodes, made for a fun and memorable year of podcasting for our team. We’re excited to bring you even more conversations around stewardship, conservation, and what makes our land so unique in 2026. Until then, we wish you a wonderful close to the year and thank you for being part of the journey!
