The Gates at Stonegate: A Saratoga Corridor Showpiece

Mirr Ranch Group is pleased to present The Gates at Stonegate a 35± deeded acre property near Saratoga in Carbon County, Wyoming, offered at $8,500,000. It comes furnished and turnkey: a home with few equals in the North Platte Valley, on acreage sharing a boundary with more than 17,000 acres of BLM land.

Few valleys in the West carry this much sporting pedigree

The property sits on the valley floor that separates the Snowy Range from the Sierra Madre, outside two towns whose history runs deeper than their size. Encampment, home to roughly 450 people, built its name on copper mining and smelting in the late 1800s and early 1900s, and the old Saratoga/Encampment railbed that carried that copper out still crosses the property. Saratoga, five minutes from the gate, goes by the motto “Where The Trout Leap In Main Street.”

The motto is earned. Ten minutes away runs the Encampment River, a native Blue Ribbon fishery with few rivals in the western U.S. and the water Ray Bergman wrote into his 1937 classic Trout, with the famed North Platte a short drive beyond. The adjoining BLM land connects hunters to public access across the Snowy Range and Sierra Madre measured in the hundreds of thousands of acres.

The neighbors say the rest: Brush Creek Ranch’s award-winning resort on more than 30,000 acres, A Bar A Ranch at nearly 100,000 acres among the country’s oldest guest ranches, and Silver Spur Ranch’s major cattle and outfitting operation. The Saratoga Airport, four miles gate to gate, receives private and charter aircraft.

A residence finished to a standard rarely seen in the region

The 10,900-square-foot home offers five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a powder room, plus a self-contained caretaker apartment with a private entrance. Its centerpiece is the two-story great room, where a river-rock fireplace rises to the room’s full height and a loft library wraps the level above. The chef’s kitchen is built around a Wolf, Sub-Zero, Cove, and True appliance package, with a Star Max griddle set into the island.

Beyond the main rooms, a formal piano room houses a Yamaha grand player piano, and the game room’s pool table and matching poker table were both built by Aspen Rustic. A gallery hallway of nature photography by the celebrated wildlife photographer Thomas D. Mangelsen conveys with the property, and whole-home Control4 automation ties together lighting, climate, audio, and security.

“I have been privileged enough to tour, visit, and stay in some spectacular places over the years, and the fit, finish, and feel of this home is simply incredible,” said Jared Souza, Senior Vice President at Mirr Ranch Group, of the property.

Outside, a 24± acre hay meadow, irrigated under its own surface water rights, anchors the viewshed and keeps deer and pronghorn in sight of nearly every window. A heated shop and an attached three-car garage complete the improvements.
